Outstanding. Thank you for your guidance in this matter. It’s been a question that has long needed answering for alot of us in this community. And not only does it make sense, but it also resonates so powerfully, as all truth does.

Aboru Aboye,
Very nicely put. I have experienced what you are referring to with the different world views of the reader and the client. It just doesn’t work if the views are not the same, or rather trying to be of the same intent. It wastes both parties time and energy. To the point where it made me feel inadequate after no results. I came to realize it was the client with a different intent and different world view. It hurt my feelings and that is where i learned to draw a line between client and babalawo. So the first reading is on me until I can understand the view of each client.
This was a good refresher for me to hear your break down of Odu.
Thank you

Great explanation! I was just asking this question yesterday.
Iboru Iboya Ibochiche!
The Ifa priest’s (all are not male) job is to divine FROM their world view to the clients needs REGARDLESS of the clients world view. It is then up to the client to make the necessary adjustments in order to balance their own energy within that worldview that was divined. The vast majority of people come to any Ifa priest with a host of ill conceived world views…views that have incorrectly beed thrust upon them from our Christian methodology as well as our societies fixation on short term gratification. So, the skilled and caring Ifa priest should not, out of hand, “discard” the client because of current misconceptions, but rather try and teach the changes necessary in their matrix to achieve genuine self-empowerment and long lasting fulfillment. If they cannot handle this, they will gravitate towards an Ifa priest whose world view mirrors their own…so they will find the priest who believes women are secondary, sexual preferences, nationality or skin color are important or that the world is “out to get you.” They will then access those energies and have to live with the inherent chaos it produces.
