Philip…I like you I had a very similar experience…a bit skeptical at first…walking awway quite amazed. Even though the movie was layered with information; political, spiritual, etc…I immediatley saw the teachings of ifa in the core of the story. I immediatley shared my personal perception and there were some interesting dialogue. Thanks for sharing your views.

Okay, i’m always a little behind on things, but I finally saw the movie Avatar. Being able to comment will help me process and add another layer to Oluwo’s blog.
“I see you…” instantly brought me in mind to our Ifa greeting Aboye Abosise that translates into, may i have the blessing to connect with you? To me this is saying, may I connect with your higher-self, your Divine self. If I “see you” then I can connect with you on the Spirit level or the place of Oneness?
The end of the film really summed it all up for me in the overall love story, which happened at the alien’s 2nd birth or rebirth when his lower-self married or merged with his higher-self. When the two bodies lay there at the tree of souls was profound where he shed his lower or human body to merge with the higher-self-body as well as the entire higher consciousness of Divine Energy Infinity – that we all are connected. Let’s face it, he really earned the rite of passage. It was clever that I didn’t realize how tall the indigenous people were standing over the human people till the end. This was very symbolic to me although very obvious that the human or alien race had not achieved the higher consciousness that the indigenous one’s had achieved.
In regards to Ifa Divination and communication with Orunmila, I beleive achieving this marriage into the higher-self is the real initiation and those of us that are divining through Ifa regardless of where we are Spiritually must up-hold the highest integrity we can in serving others. The reason I love Ifa so much is the heart of the matter is always pushing us to use good character – in mind (our thoughts) as well as what we manifest in material. It doesn’t matter to me how many magic tricks one can do, but after the show its back to being all about one’s character – and if it is bad you will hinder your ability to do the Avatar thing of “i see you.”
